Experential Psychotherapist
Welcome! I am Andreea Sabău, I am a psychologist, and my professional development began more than 7 years ago, starting from the Faculty of Psychology, going on to specialize in clinical psychology, then following training in individual psychotherapy, as well as complementary couple and family training.
I am currently an autonomous clinical psychologist with experience and skills in complex psychological assessment and clinical psychological intervention and a psychotherapist with training in Experiential Psychotherapy, Therapy of Unification (T.U.) My dream of becoming a psychotherapist was born fairly early in my life and has increasingly taken shape as I have come to understand that being in harmony with one’s self is a fundamental element in cultivating a fulfilling life, but also in cultivating nurturing and healthy relationships with the significant others in our lives, whether they be our partners, children or close friends. From my daily work in my practice, I began to notice more and more the nature and depth of the organization of the psyche and its symbolic life, which led me to pursue a second training in Jungian analytical psychotherapy.
In mythology, the hero’s journey is a pattern of a broad category of stories involving a hero, who embarks on an adventure, enters into various conflicts, goes through moments of suffering, struggles with the tyrants of the past or the present, with evil and darkness, faces his greatest fears and weaknesses, feels hurt, is pushed to overcome his own limits, so that in the end, the hero himself is transformed, learning to live life with openness, both to joy and to pain. A fulfilling life is not necessarily without challenges, but one lived with openness and flexibility, a life in which suffering is only one side of the coin, hiding on the other side what is truly meaningful and valuable to us.
I believe we are all heroes of our own stories, even if we don’t always feel that way. Sometimes we can feel lost, or we are overcome by distrust, other times we simply seek the strength to answer the call of adventure, or the ability to find meaning in embarking on the journey. In the stories of the hero’s journey, the hero in moments of uncertainty and stalemate often finds allies who support him in overcoming challenges.
I want to accompany people on their journey, with a lot of understanding and patience to overcome and integrate turning points, but also to help them find and strengthen the support they need within themselves. I want to offer a space where people learn to meet themselves with joy and understanding, a space where they listen to themselves carefully and find out what is really important to them, with less reference to external standards and more reference to the peace of their soul. Studies say that the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our relationships. And one of the most important relationships, often overlooked, is the one with ourselves.
